Before browsing the various service options available, ask yourself a few important questions:
What am I looking for in a community service
experience?
Who do I want to work with
(e.g. children, senior citizens, women/men who are homeless,
adult learners, people with disabilities)?
What
social issue(s) is/are important to me (e.g. poverty, racism,
the environment, welfare reform, education, adult literacy, non-violence,
health care, domestic violence, hunger, homelessness)?
What kind of commitment in terms of time and frequency
am I able to make? Do I want a one-time event or a regular weekly
commitment? Do I want to work independently or as part of a group?
Where is God calling me to serve?
After giving these questions some thought, click on the button bar at the bottom of this page to browse through brief descriptions of the many agencies and programs available to you.
After reviewing the Center for Values and Service website, please contact us or stop by our office in Cohn Hall. One of our student coordinators or Administrative Staff will be happy to talk with you.
