WIC

This supplemental nutrition program provides short-term intervention to mothers and children in low income households and is designed to influence nutrition and health behaviors. WIC provides quality nutrition education and services, breast-feeding promotion and education, a monthly food package and access to maternal, prenatal and pediatric health care services. This program is federally funded and was developed as a pilot project of the Maryland Food Committee. Solutions operates two WIC clinics and coordinates voucher redemption for fresh produce at Farmers Markets for WIC participants. WIC Services for the Deaf serves hearing impaired individuals.
