Site Planning: Conception

  • Who is the target audience and how will they use the Web site?

  • What purpose it the Web site going to serve? What is the mission?

  • What is your overall vision for the way you see the site looking and functioning?

  • How will users navigate the site?

  • How are the HTML pages organized or clustered into subsections?

Along with your Web site, you will submit a Web Project Plan that answers the above questions. This plan should follow the following outline of topics:

Mission

What is the primary result or outcome you want to achieve by having a web site?

Vision

What you envision the site becoming.

Target Audience What are your primary target audiences? What about secondary audiences?
Strategy

What approach or strategy are you going to use in your Web site to get the results you want?

Goals

How will the content within the the web site achieve the site's specific goals.

Objectives

What more specific results do you want to obtain from your site?

Creative Brief Sensorial Design Brief: what you are trying to communicate with the look and feel of the site; how the navigation structure works within the interface; decide on fonts, styles, colors.
