Mission:
The Digital Media Lab of Loyola College has been established to investigate
the emergence of computer-based networks, particularly the Internet
and the World Wide Web, as a new medium of communication. The Digital Media Lab's
activities are concentrated in three primary activities. First, it explores
the way in which new communication technology can be used to enhance
teaching and learning. Secondly, it conducts applied research investigating
the use of new communications technology in a wide range of different
settings. Finally, the Digital Media Lab provides students and teachers with the opportunity
to enhance their skills in using new communication technology. The Digital Media Lab's
primary objective is to better understand the ramifications of the emergence
of a distributed information space.
