Post-Retreat Experiences
The Loyola College Retreat Program
is an essential contributor to the corporate mission of Loyola
College, namely the preparation of men and women for others.
In the Spiritual Exercises, St. Ignatius Loyola challenged participants
to discern God's call and life that call responsibly, faithfully
and intentionally in a sacramental world. The Retreat Program
assists Loyola students as they prepare to accept that responsibility.
The Undergraduate Retreat Program is an integral part of Loyola
College Campus Ministry. The Retreat Program provides students with opportunities
for:
The Retreat Program encourages students to go aside and pray
as Jesus did. When Jesus went out into the desert he was confronted with
major life decisions -- not unlike the kinds of decisions most college-aged
students are about to make. He was asked to consider questions of personal
integrity, vocation and the faith context of his life. The Undergraduate
Retreat Program is designed to recognize the important life questions
which students face, but it is also designed to help students realize
that spiritual growth and development is a life journey, a movement through
continuous stages, a call to love according to the Gospel.

Post-Retreat Experience
Post-Retreat experiences at Loyola are those events, activities,
and prayer services that seek to continue the transformation(s) that the
Spirit has facilitated in a person on a particular retreat. Many times,
people have very powerful experiences of God during retreats. This "problem"
can often become exacerbated when one has to come home to a campus that
is buzzing with homework, activities, and other obligations. To that end,
Campus Ministry offers students ongoing opportunities to continually deepen
the friendships they have made, as well as the faith commitments to which
they have been led. This deepening takes place through social activities
(photograph sharing, ice cream socials), service projects (Habitat for
Humanity, Project Mexico, Spring Break Outreach), and prayer experiences
(liturgies, EvenSong, silent meditation times).
